General information only, not legal advice. A training inquiry or class does not issue a Michigan CPL, guarantee approval, or replace instructions from the Michigan State Police and your county clerk.
Questions, answered.
Is a CPL class the same as getting a permit?+
No. A class may support the training part of an application, but the county-clerk process issues the license after eligibility review. Training does not itself issue a permit.
What does CCW mean in Michigan?+
CCW is common shorthand for carrying concealed, while Michigan’s official license term is Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
How do I ask about a class?+
Call 313-436-0262. We will confirm current details directly, including what to bring and how to plan your inquiry.
